It's nearly 1 year since anyone posted anything.
Hope I can try to regenerate some hype/ activeness in this blog again?
How, you all enjoyed the Teachers' Day celebrations 2011?
It's really sweet to see everyone coming back here again, for one last time as cchy students, to celebrate and show appreciation to our beloved teachers (:

Sigh, how time passes. I still remembered being quite pessimistic about the class, cos the class was quiet, and to be frank, quite unfriendly in the beginning. But well, fate has brought us here together, and I really really enjoy the times spent together with you guys XD

And then those happy events, such as Family Day bazaar '11, Scarnival, CNY deco...missed those times..:D Remember the 'botak' shrub at the back of the 1Dees classroom, mrs ng's constant's naggings...

I hope the class can continue to stay bonded as we put our heart together as one. This is one class I am very proud of. It's like coming back to a second home, so for those with unhappiness or grudges or starting to stray away from the class, I urge you to put them down and join us back together again :D after all, it's hard to find such such good friends (: (not pinpointing anyone..)

2Dees, deep down inside, you have already been part of me, a place that I call HOME! ("this is home, truly, where I know I must be...")

he said we slhd book u all and the venue early or we will gonna have a rush.most probably,its gonna be on the second week cause we have extended holiday program on the first week,many will be going back to their country on the 3rd n 4th week,so,its gonna be on the second week.

actually,we can choose frm monday to sunday of the week.or mayb can be on sunday to monday?

this time,we are gonna divide each other into groups,and we will do it TOGETHER!!haha.

ok.here goes.

we have the head of committee--->yian n me.n more.LOL.

then the food--->yeow wee and others.

the games group--->guodong. and others.

ok.basically the heads will coordinate and organize the venue.and time.n over look the whole thing.and of course the money lah.LOL.this year.its gonna b slightly more expensive cause every time is yian de mother pay the extra one.but now we paiseh lah.cnnt always liddat mah.

Alright, i believe everyone of you got the news that the coming chalet will be held on 5th and 6th december @ Orchid Country Club.

Yep, and here to inform all of you that we'll be meeting at 812 bus stop right in front of the school on the 5th at 9.30am. :) do be punctual! Yea i know its kind of early but... since we only have 2 days for the chalet, lets try to spend more time with each other. LOL.

Heres a general idea of what are the activities...

5th.

9.30-11.30 : Street soccer/ Basketball { bonding sessions!

11.30-2.oo : lunch plus taking shuttle bus to OCC

2.00-4.00 : Check in, settle down, swimming!

4.00 - 6.00 : DAIDEE TOURNAMENT!

6.00 - 8.30 : BBQ.

8.30 - 10.30 : Truth or dare (:

10.30 onwards, Can go bowling;kbox;sleep; watch tv & whatever you want!

After everyone wake up, (not too late though) we'll start on the game 3ppl, 2legs! Guess you people know how to play... In pairs! And afterwards, it'll be free period all the way to 12pm. Hi 2 Dees..

Its been a long time since I last wrote on this blog of yours.. I'm wondering how have you been. Ms Lau has done a great job in teaching you when I'm not around. Do appreciate her like my dearest Eng. Rep Shinan has said.

Yes.. Its the final year for 2D to be together before you separate as a class. But nonetheless, I'm 110% sure that 2D'09 spirit will definitely live on for a very very long time. It has definitely impressed me that the class spirit that no other class can beat. Keep it that way..

I'm looking forward to teaching some of you next year again.. but this time a different subject, Social Studies.

As for me.. I'm really Zzzz-deprived from looking after Baby Kaelyn. cos have to wake up every 4 hourly in the middle of the night.. Gosh!!! No wonder mums are the most noble people on Earth. The energy they have to have when you are a baby/toddler. The heartaches, the frustrations, the hardships of being a parent.. It all starts when you are born. You will never know until you become a mum or dad. I can say this now cos I'm really experiencing it..
So .. do appreciate your parents.. although some of you might think they are unreasonable.

I can tell you for sure that no mother wants the worse of the child. I for one...always looking for the best to give her.. Best milk, Best clothes, Best bed, best stroller/carrier etc... and the list goes on.

Anyway, it has been fun and great teaching 2D for one & 3/4 years. Though I can't see you through your EOY, but I think you will do well.

Oh yes.. you may want to keep this blog alive.. since I was the one who created this one ^ 3/4 years back...heehee..Keep your updates coming cos I still visit this page quite regularly..

Comment: Guess where I found these questions. No prizes for correct guesses. Nope, it is not the GCE "O" Levels AMaths or Emaths Paper. PSLE MATHS 2009. For the sweets questions, it is solved using simultaneous by subsituition method. Yes, we can solve within 3mins. But for a P6 student who is used to models and not algebra, and under tremendous exam stress, you think he can cope. This sweets quetion was dubbed the most difficult question this year. For angle one, I do not kno how to do. Serious. Some smart people out there to help me solve? Thanks:D

The Bad News... shan't mention much.. cos is really horrible...and Unbelievable.! but it certainly boils down to respect and self-control, no matter what the underlying reasons are.

The Entrance. Nothing is left now, except the gateposts. Did you note the gateposts from the first photograph. Yes, only the gateposts and fences remains. The grasspatch is front of the gatepost was Stamford Road. They re-aligned the road and this formerly-busy road is now a patch of grass. Ironic eh? Fences and gateposts are used to protect buildings, but now, the gateposts and fences remain, with its 2 former occupants long gone. ( The other occupancy was the British Council Building, which gave way for the construction of the library in 1957)

The Gatepost (2009)

I told you to note the floor before right? So yes, this is the floor. The workers has forgotten to demolish this, or they decide to leave a piece of memory here? It is currently covered with grass, apparently....

Here are some interesting facts for everybody to know. Enjoy:D

-The National Library was opened on 12 December 1960, by President Yusof Ishak.

-Sri Datuk Lee Kong Chian also contributed significantly to the construction of the library

-1st head of Librian was Mrs Hedwig Anwar, who occupied the Head Librian Position till 1988 (Long, eh?)

-The National Library became a satutory board in 1995 (National Library Board)

-The Library has only 1 lift, for staff use, and it breaks down rather frequently.

-The coffeeshop outside the library has many fond memories for Singaporeans. The coffeeshop was a zinc-shack, and has only 3 stores: A wantan noodles stall, an ice kachang stall and a malay cooked food stall. Most will have memories of an old lady selling Wantan Noodles(30cents then only) and the flies-infested Ice-kachang(who cares about hygiene then?). Try asking your parents. I think they will know. Their generation mahh...;D

-The Library was slated for demolishment in 1998. Following that, there was a groundswell of dissent ny the public, many opposing to the demolishment. Despite the strong oppostion, the library had no choice but to open its door for the last time on 31st March 2004.

1st, definitely volume level has gone up quite a lot with 2D. Or else I would not have advise you on the noise level for group work the other day... D is for Dynamic Darlings and NOT Deafening Din.

2nd, Do cooperate with Mr Pang on the IPW. He is new at this... so he's trying his best on how to help you. Respect everyone...

I really appreciate YiAN as monitor for bring up this matter.

Hi guys , first time posting here. Since I am a first-timer, please overlook my mistakes in this post if I have one.I am going to post about something bad that is happening in the class and it is going to be a long one.

Firstly, I think that sometimes the noisy level in the class is getting higher and higher(I am also one noise producers sometimes? ). Have anyone realised that these days Mr Yip have been shouting at us more often during Higher Chinese lesson's?This must have been because that we have been too noisy. Besides that , many teachers have complaining that 2D is getting noisier and noisier and Mr Yip have been telling us that recently? For another example , is that how we have line up before going to the sports hall on this week's PE lesson.Mr Yong have also reprimanded us for the noise produced.

Secondly , I want to comment on the IPW session that we had today.Although i have to agree that somethings of the IPW like the KND template is quite useless...*looks around for teachers , hoping that they do not see this *And that Mr Pang is quite slow is his teachings..... But can we still give mr pang some form of respect and not give him a bad impression of 2D? I understand that many of us wants to go home quickly and escape from the IPW (I also wants to go home and play my dota games ) . However , today we tried to end the lesson by greeting Mr Pang asap.Isn't this very rude of us ? And i also see that Mr pang is also trying his best not to scold us.Imagine if it was mrs tan , i reckon no one would dare to do this?

Ok , I hope that most 2D people would be reading this post and try to do some reflections?If anyone got any solutions like wanting Mr Pang to speed up the lesson , post it on the blog too?

To the person, I'm glad that you have said sorry for your act of malice and end the commotion here. It is good gesture and a brave one and I'm proud of you for admitting your mistake. Not many people admit their mistakes. More often than not, most choose to deny their wrongdoing. Saying sorry is not about reflecting weakness but reflecting courage & responsibility for one's action. And I think you know that... Hope you learn from this...

To Sec 2D... Do forgive this person and forget about the incident. From what I know, you have certainly grew stronger and wiser as a class and as an individual. Learning to self-control is part and parcel of life... and I'm sure that many incidents that you will experience in the future will require you to call upon it...Put this behind you.. and strive for the future... Do work hard as the year is coming to an end.. Cherish those who are true to you and the memories that you create...

Feeling very unhappy and angry after reading the uncalled for tags on 2D's tagboard.
Why is it that people keep trying to find fault with one another?
I guess SEC TWO DE will just have to accept the fact that this is a CLASS problem and we don't need anyone else butting into it and trying to act as if they know what is happening.

What upsets me most is that you have the guts to judge us in a situation like this.
Without knowing whats True or False, you just prance about our tagboard and talk crap when you DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. We're pathetic? YOUR the pathetic one, you ignorant fool. If you don't have the courage to say who you are, don't even bother talking to us. Us 2D-ians don't answer to cowards. And please, not fighting back to the Sec 1s DOES NOT mean that we are useless.

2D-ians stick together through thick and thin, and if you insult one of us, you insult all of us. So watch what you say, don't think your some hotshot just because you tag us with 'sec 2 got no face liao', when in fact, nobody acutally cares what you say.

So why don't you go pack your insults in a freaking bag and throw it in the bin. Cause whatever that comes out will only be rubbish anyway.

It's been a long time since I last penned on this blog.. I hope that your holidays have been great..
As for me, I'm getting all the rest i can get.. while at the same time marking your compositions... =)

Just a gentle reminder for those who have not done your EL holiday homework.. DO SO IMMEDIATELY!!! unless like Sean says " risk a lecture from me on the first day of school"

Term 2 is going to be a short term.. Week 4 of T2 is EL class test.. and Week 7 is the start of your mid year exams..

So those who need to buck up .. better do so.. .. Use the holidays to check on the subject combinations offered in Sec 3. At least you have a goal which class to aim for. Just to let you know.. your cohort is extremely competitive.. so do make effort to do well.

What to bring on the first day of school?

I 've heard that many have queries on what to bring on the first day of school. Thus, I've contacted 叶老师 and this were his instructions:

Bring:

1. English storybook/newspaper

2. Pencilcase

3. Chinese homeowrk

Don't need to bring the new sec 2 textbooks, cos according to his SMS below,

“带铅笔盒，英文故事数和华文功课就可以了。”

I suppose that we don't need to lug those heavy books to school. Furthermore, we don't have the new timetables, so we won't know what to bring either ( You want to bring also can la). However, though 叶老师 didn't mention about the Engilsh Homework, do bring it unless you would want a good lecture from Mrs. Tan.

Ok, that's all folks. Enjoy the remaining days of your holidays and make full good use of it!!

I'm pretty sure that some of your grandparents don't know how to speak mandarin, am I right? They speak only dialects. Thus, the government wants people to speak Mandarin, for better communication.

By the way, this song was made mandatory in all full schools in Singapore then, in the late 70's and early 80's. Very few of our generation people know this song, but if you ask people of your parent's generation, they would know how to sing. It is COMPULSORY to sing this song during Music Lessons. Mdm Chen should also know it. Either she's being taught this song or she've taught this song to students.

i have done some research about the class-tee.this is the madrine polo,which is
a polo t-shirt useing jersey material and has a zip instead of a button.i have found some design and colours of the class-tee.i need you all to choose the colour.

i am back about the class tee.
that is only a draft guys,if most agrees with kai lin and my design,that will be the final.
i have to ask if you all can let me be in charge of the class tee???any objections?
the colour of the class tee is a big problem.because the company may not have the colour we want.so next year when we have the class list,i will put up the draft and let the class choose.

Alright class, ye lao shi's tag is just a small remark.just don't think too much.if ye lao shi really leave the class,what have we got to do?what can we do?i am sure he will try his best to stay with the class =).

i found out the tag board i being "flooded" can u all post?let the number of post increase but not write a long paragraph in the tag board.so i think you all should think about it.

Erm, for the class tee..
Could we use another colour from red.
As it is very bright and not very suitable for class tee.
Well, different shades may look nicer.
But a different colour will be even nicer.
This is my opinion only. =)

Another comment on the design given by Ryan,
is that can we don't have the "cchy 2 dees '09" ?
As it make the design a bit too 'much'.
This is my opinion only. again.

We know that it is pretty tough to design a class tee.

I can say with pride that this year has ended with great gusto, with the entire class attaining a 100 per cent pass, so this palpably shows that our class is promoted to Seconday Two Express. But however, I would like to have some comments here:

1. Having a more stabilized system of Humanitites Teachers in our class

This is a very serious problem and hope this can be brought up to the school. Let me show the evidence:

Although, yes, we admit to the fact that we are lazy at times and other factors that are caused by us, but this constant changing of teachers have also caused subjects instability and thus caused some of our Humanities subjects to plunge. I'm not blaming entirely to the arrangement, the negative impact is indeed also caused by our laziness, indecisiveness, etc, but alas, this is also one of the factors that caused negative impact towards our subjects.

One more point I'd like to bring out is, the estrangment between the two parties of the History component, between Ms Jessie Or and Mr Victor Tan/Lecture-in-charge. I remembered that there is a fact, clearly and obviously stated in her notes. We memorized those facts, and applied them into our tests and major exams. But alas, our answer was incorrect. I would like to bring out: What we applied what we learnt is not what we get! I remebered everyone digested this wrong information and thus getting wrong anwers. Not only our class, other classes that were taught by Ms Or too. Maybe I should drop this point. It is no point arguing over this, maybe is due to our complacency of not checking the History textbook.

But another estrangment that happened recently. What Mr Victor Tan mentions about the topics tested for End-Of-Year does not coordinate with what is tested on the History Paper itself. Chapter 6 was not tested. I know, the school, would say, '' Read the entire History Textbook, lah!'' But do you think it is so easy? History is a subject with heavy content and we would definitely like to be able to focus those topics that are more essential/more highlighted by the teachers/Shown great importance by the teachers. I'm not saying that we are lazy to digest data and etc, but since ''what you say is not what you meant'', why not don't say anything at all? Then, we would not follow the wrong instructions, like in this case, study more/focus more onc ertain topic than the rest. If the teacher did not mention at all what topics are to be tested, we would be studying and mugging the entire textbook. It is definitely a more tedious job, comparing to focussing on certain topics of great importance, but we would rather follow this tedious-but-correct-method, which provides a fair and adequate balance among the topics, than to follow the shortcut, which we can spend more time on important topics, but it is not guaranteed that it would appear in the examination itself. I'm sure everyone would like a safer-but-longer route, rather than a short-easy-but-dangerous way. So teachers, take note. if you would like us to use the shorter route, make sure it is ''guranteed''. If not, please tell us to use the longer but safer route instead.

English Literature has always been one of my favourite subjects. Great and superb writers such as Catherine Lim( Little Ironies-Stories of Singapore, Or Else, The Lightning God and Other Stories, etc), Goh Sin Tub( Honour and other stories, One Singapore trilogy, The Nan-Mei-Su girls of Emerald Hill), Robert Yeo, Osman Wok( apologised for this typo), E.S Nesbit, Phillipa Pearce,Ho Minfong,Low Kay Hua and etc has indeed spiced up the Literature scene. I have found a great interest in books in this Literature World with such brilliant writers. But such constant change in Literature teachers, some which are kinda sub-standard, and also the lousy, not down-to-earth storybook-The Silver Sword, has somehow affected my love for Literarure lessons, but fortuantely, not all Literature teachers are like that, thus the impact is minimal. Besides, in my opinion, I have felt that the goog grades in my English Literarure has indeed motivated me to like English Literarure even more than ever. So, I hope that next year, we would have more permanent,stable and good Literature teachers( Good examples are like Mdm Samboo, Ms Teng, and Ms Fanny See). I'm not saying that we must definitely have these teachers as Literature teachers. The Final Decision still lise with The School, but what I'm showing here is that, I hope there would be good and proper arrangement of teachers, especially in the Humanities subjects. Then, I would believe that, with good arrangement and planning of teachers to teach, and also other factors, such as good English Literature storybook( I'm very impressed of next year's English Literature, and also looking foward to. I'm very fond and impressed by the Literature storybook- 10 stories from Shakespeare by Magaret Nandi and Lisa Tan. Well-loved tales such as Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer's Night Dream, Julius Caeser, Twelfth Night, The Merchant Of Venice, The Tempest, and more.)

So I hope that proper improvements can be made. Then, I believe the school would be a better place to learn
